E82: Alden Spratt Founder of Start LSAT

Alden is a University of South Florida Graduate and currently works as the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Start LSAT. This week, I sit down with Alden, a 21-year-old whose story is just beginning, yet it's already packed with enough twists, lessons, and ambition to inspire anyone. Alden and I started at his internship before college, yes, before college. He started down a finance route but quickly realized that kind of work couldn’t incorporate the intellectual stimulation and creative thinking Alden was always yearning for.

Arriving in South Florida, Alden dove into his first legal internship at Spinks Law Firm, where he got his hands dirty in probate, wills, and trusts. The experience ignited something in him. Suddenly, the clarity hit—this is what he wanted to do. The law was his calling.

Then came a major turning point: leading the University of South Florida’s Ice Hockey team as president. Here, Alden’s entrepreneurial spirit was put to the test. Handling a $100K budget and overseeing two teams taught him the ins and outs of leadership, all while boosting team morale. The game-changer? A bold move to redesign the team’s jerseys, resulting in $20K in sales and features on TSN and FanDuel's social media. Alden wasn't just leading a team—he was building a brand.

Fast forward to today: Alden is cutting his teeth as a paralegal at the world-renowned Morgan and Morgan, where he’s already flexing his legal muscles in litigation and motion practice. The freedom to craft his own arguments has him thinking about the next frontier—mergers and acquisitions. But as always, Alden keeps his options open.

And then, there’s the LSAT. After three months of dedicated study, Alden didn’t just pass—he aced it with a perfect 180. This wasn’t just a personal victory; it was the spark for a business idea. Enter Start LSAT, Alden’s brainchild offering affordable, high-quality LSAT prep. Not only did he build the curriculum from scratch, but he also taught himself to code, designed his own website, and crafted interactive videos.

At just 21, Alden’s achievements are staggering, but what stands out most is his relentless curiosity and drive. His story is proof that brilliance knows no age, and he’s only just getting started. I have no doubt Alden will be a force in the legal world for years to come.
